An Interesting Beginning…
The company is a family owned and operated business. Tony and Dion, along with their father, Bill, were basically “forced” into the business!

Easier Said Than Done!
Bill needed a new Gander River boat. The one he had was wooden and would soon need some repairs, so they decided to look at purchasing a fiberglass one.

The Geanges looked at several boats but were not completely satisfied with the available designs and styles.

Sitting around the kitchen table one night, the trio finally came to the conclusion that they could easily build a fiberglass boat using a mold from their father’s original Gander River boat.

In fact, they decided that with the mold, they would be able to really save some money and make three boats… One for each of them! Little did they know where this simple idea would take them…

A boat is Born!
The first boat was manufactured in their father’s garage next to the house. In the dead of winter, they carefully and painstakenly developed a flawless mold. Then they began to work on the first boat.

There was just enough room to move around, and the work was tough, but the guys were persistent, and finally, the first boat was finished!

Obviously, everyone was quite pleased to see the first boat completed! They put the boat on a trailer, and had it parked next to the road. Bill couldn’t wait to get it into the water!

But within two hours, there was a knock on the door… “Is that boat for sale?”… The Geange’s decided to sell the boat to help pay for the start-up costs, and they haven’t looked back!

From a simple plan to make their dad a boat has come the start of one of the finest fiberglass boat manufacturers in Newfoundland and Labrador.
